Let it go!

YOU CAN LET IT GO, adapted from Jay Shetty's Wisdom Tips.

While it is difficult to forgive, you are the principal beneficiary, if you let it go.

Quoting Nelson Mandela, "As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison".

And this is not easy because we may have been caused pain to extreme lengths.

Perhaps, your heart has been broken. Perhaps, your trust has been misused. Perhaps, you have been exploited. Perhaps, your loyalty has been tested. While forgiveness does not excuse the behavior, it prevents the behavior from negatively affecting us. We must learn to rise above the challenges that have been caused by others in our lives.

We must learn to accept apologies that were never given, nor received. You cannot fix yourself by breaking someone else.

Holding resentment towards anybody truly affects the way we think, and ultimately affects our health and quality of life. Our ego wants us to put others in their place when they hurt or disappoint us, but we should learn to put ourselves in their place instead.

Internal healing is what enables us to take care of the external circumstances that we are confronted with daily. So, let bitterness, all anger and evil speaking and malice be put away from you.

No matter how deserving such an emotion may be, or feel, it is negative, and injurious to your long term health, peace and happiness.

I urge you to let it go, from today.
