My Thoughts on Getting Through Life …

Here are 7 tips to guide you on your journey.

  1. Have a realistic view of life. Life is not fair. Life goes around in cycles or chapters as often described. So just take what comes your way, introspect, learn the lessons and keep walking.
  2. Never give impossibility thinking a place. Nothing is impossible "with God". Start with the quality of your thinking, followed by a bit of good plan, and proper execution. Like I say often, Think, Plan and Act.
  3. The illiterate of tomorrow are not those who cannot read or write. But those who cannot learn, unlearn and learn again. So, keep learning. Never assume you are always right or know it all. This pursuit of knowledge would cost you time and money, but worth the investment I assure you.
  4. You must learn to ride the storms of life. Every storm has come to serve you. Every storm is your servant, if you will allow it. What it would produce inside you will be celebrated and rewarded in the future. If it hasn’t killed you, it is meant to make you stronger.
  5. When fear and doubt are present, logic leaves. Use fear and doubt to enhance your imagination. DO NOT allow Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) get any foothold in your thinking.
  6. You must have the right attitude to life. The attitude that pursues diligence and responsible living.
  7. Finally, you are UNIQUE. You don't need peers or others to affirm your uniqueness. Be the best of you possible, and stop trying to be like some other person in an attempt to be accepted or noticed.

Let me close by sharing two quotes, one from one of my mentors and friend, and another from a role model that continues to inspire me and many with his leadership and life transforming teachings.

Don't be discouraged by people being ahead of you. If you don't expose yourself to being last somewhere, you will never get the opportunity to be first somewhere - John C. Maxwell

Don't justify mediocrity. Foolishness doesn't depart easily. You must be determined to excel. Learn something new and act on it! - Pastor Sam Adeyemi

My admonition for you is to never give up because you failed or was rejected. Failure is often a stepping stone or a required diversion for us to reach our purpose in life.
