TODAY MATTERS, inspired by John. C. Maxwell

What you do TODAY Matters, and here is what I learnt from my mentor and friend John Maxwell about Today:- 

1. Today is the ONLY day you have. Do not loose today, because you are looking at tomorrow with fear, worry and anxiety. Mother Theresa had it right when she said “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
2. Today is the MOST IMPORTANT day you have. Today, you can start all over again. You can have a clean page today. All you have is now, today. Though you can’t go back to start all over again, everyone can start today to make a brand new ending, and your next ten hours of Today is vital to your taking advantage of today. 
3. Today you can SET UP YOUR tomorrow. Today matters. Today you are either preparing for tomorrow, or you are repairing something in your yesterday so that your tomorrow can be better. Either way, the next ten hours of your life matters. 

“A great part of what you need to do Today is to let some people go. Yes, some relationships are holding you back and you have to let them go.”

Usually a tough decision to make, more because you often worry about the pain they would go through, rather than the growth you would achieve. Such people come to you for a season and they are increadible in that season. They bless you in that season. But quit trying to make that relationship a lifetime contract. When it’s time to let them go, kiss them, love them and then wave them goodbye. The pain they would feel is actually beneficial to their also coming to the realisation that Today Matters. 

And how about Tomorrow?
Trust in God who holds tomorrow. You take care of today, and God will take care of your tomorrow. It’s that simple, because that is what The Creator Himself said.  

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” ~ Matthew 6:34

This is not about religion. This is about a relationship with God. All He wants is to take care of your tomorrow while you take care of today, because Today matters.
