From Business Owner to Entrepreneur - The Things That Work

This week on Wednesday March 28, I will be joining two other entrepreneurs in a one day seminar titled “Lets Talk Entrepreneurship” to a sold out class of 32 registered participants in Lagos.

Here are two of the things that work, things that if you do them, your business would grow and prosper, though you will have to be at the April 5 training to get the full bouquet.

1. Self-education
The whole of life, including the life of a business is a psychological play. Most people invest in assets of the business but forget that the owner is the most important ASSET of the business. Your business cannot outgrow the quality of the thinking that the owner brings into it. So the owner must be developed for the business to grow. He or she must be consistently willing to unlearn, to learn new things. This would cost time and money, but worth every second and kobo spent.

2. Proximity and Modeling
You have to connect with successful entrepreneurs, to observe them and learn from them. Learn from what they do and how they do it. Get around the right quality of people. Proximity on a regular basis is key to growing your own business. You must be willing to be around people who are way above your pay grade. Such people are usually willing to lift you up. It is the people who are at your pay grade or below who usually hold back from helping you to grow. So who are you modeling? Who are you close enough to? You will make mistakes as you copy what they have done, but the way to know what works is by making mistakes. It is the same way we learn how to walk, how to ride a bicycle amongst other things we appear to do so well now.

3. …

4. ...

5. … and lots more of the things that work that I have to share.

There are indeed many more tips to share for those who truly want to move from being just Business Owners to becoming successful Entrepreneurs.

Indeed someone else’s experience and not just experience is the best teacher. We have walked the talk now for years with verifiable success, so we know a few things that work.

Please join Ade Awonaike, ‘Bisi Soji-Oyawoye and I on April 5, 2018 in Lagos, as we Talk Entrepreneurship. As Nick Vujisick, renowned evangelist and motivational speaker once said, “In the end, we only regret the chances we did not take”.

I hope a business owner or an aspiring entrepreneur reading this now would take this chance, and call Shola on +2348029330022 or email info@resourceintermediaries.org to register for any of the 16 seats still available.
