Do you desire to move up?

This is the first of two series on "Promotions, How to move up in life and living", inspired by messages from Joel & Victoria Osteen and Femi Atoyebi SAN.

Have you ever noticed that people tend to act differently around those they think can do something for them - people who appear to have status, wealth or influence in life?  

I believe that the way we treat people is a test, a test of our preparedness or otherwise to move up. Many times, God will bring people across our way that may seem insignificant. They may not appear to be able to do anything for us, but in reality, they are divinely linked to moving us up to the next level. 

The truth is that, though the people we are copying up to may open a door or two for us, they often do not hold the key to our destiny. Promotion, sustained and unconditional promotion comes from God.  The challenge is that God usually uses the most unlikely people to open doors of opportunity for us - a stranger, a gateman, a cleaner, a maid, a driver, a junior colleague, or even a staff or client that we dislike if not hate.

In the same way, some of the people that also show us “hard love” that we consider our enemies, or wicked and uncaring are actually our best friends. Examples are friends that seek to hold us accountable and focused, parents, hard bosses, and tough friends who insist that we do what we consider unpleasant or “painful”, but that is ultimately good for us. 

In my life’s journey, I have come across many situations where these group of people hold the key to my promotion and increase.  It is important that we treat them with respect and honour even if we do not feel that way.

Before you were born, God had a plan for your life, because no one is truly born by “accident”.

Because God has a plan for you and I, He positions people in our path that will take us from one point to the other, until we reach the planned destination, or they have finished their role on our life’s journey. The challenge is that most people do not recognize their helper and treat them badly to their own detriment. 

Now, please note that it is God who is providing the help, not man, but God working through men. So you should never put your trust in any man or woman. 

Are you desirous of promotion at work, in your finances, in your family, in your relationship(s), in your ministry? You should strive to treat everyone that comes in your path well, because they just may have been planted there by God, for a purpose.
