What Is Life?
What Is Life?
Some
describe life as a story in the mouth of a fool signifying nothing, while Shakespeare
said, "the world is a stage and men and women are mere actors on that
stage."
What is
your own metaphor for life? For example, is life a party, is life a race, or is
life wicked or unfair? Time has proven that one's view of life influence how he
or she lives.
If you
see life as a party then you will live your life partying. If you view life as
unfair then you will live life hating life and having negative emotions. Unfortunately,
one’s view of life always becomes self-fulfilling, except where God just shows
mercy
What
then is life?
Even as
this appears to be a simple but fundamental question, I encourage you to
personalize the question and ask, "What is my life?" Unfortunately,
most people do not find the right answer until it is too late.
Without
understanding, life becomes an endless pursuit as it is with most people. We
always have something to pursue. We set a goal, we wake up; follow the routine
until we go to bed at night. The next day, we start all over again. Then once
our goal is achieved, man continues in pursuit of even more. Sadly, what we
pursue is a mirage. The earlier we discover that a life of pursuits is a
mirage, the better our living will be.
Whatever
we posses, cars, money, fame, houses, wisdom, beauty etc., someone else has
either better or more. Strangely for many of us, the discovery that someone has
more or better sets us up for another pursuit
My
answer to the question, what is life is that we cannot find life outside God
our creator. It is only in Him that we can discover our purpose and be fully
equipped to walk through life successfully.
So,
a search for life is a search for purpose and who best to ask but the creator
of man.
I
hope you find your purpose this week, and for those who have, may this week
count positively in your life’s journey.
